Alstef Group, a company specializing in automation solutions for airport, intralogistics, and parcel markets, has announced the launch of a new autonomous industrial vehicle (AIV) with AI-based perception capabilities. The vehicle is designed for warehouse and distribution environments and is set to be showcased at LogiMAT 2026 in Stuttgart.
The AIV features a ‘perception bubble’ that enables real-time interpretation and response to its surroundings. The system uses onboard cameras and AI models to classify objects, distinguishing between pedestrians, pallets, carts, and fixed infrastructure. This allows the vehicle to dynamically adjust its behavior, including speed, routing, and docking actions.
The vehicle is designed for deployment in existing facilities without major infrastructure changes. It can adapt to layout changes and temporary obstacles, while also recognizing features such as pedestrian crossings and adjusting its behavior automatically. Additional functionality includes the ability to detect whether a pallet is loaded or empty and adjust handling accordingly. The vehicle can also modify its docking trajectory based on pallet position, reducing the need for precise placement or fixed guidance systems.
The perception system is available in two configurations – a front-and-rear ‘light’ version and a full 360-degree version. The initial commercial rollout will focus on the lighter configuration, with future capabilities to be introduced through software updates.
Alstef Group is a company that designs and integrates automation solutions for the airport, intralogistics, and parcel markets. The company’s new AIV is a significant addition to its portfolio, offering increased autonomy and智能化 in warehouse and distribution environments.
This launch is significant in the industry as it represents the ongoing trend towards increased automation and智能化 in warehouse and distribution environments. The ability to dynamically adjust behavior and interact with its surroundings represents a step forward in the development of autonomous industrial vehicles.
