The Union Cabinet has recently approved two new semiconductor manufacturing projects with a combined investment of ₹3,936 Cr under the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM). This significant move is set to bolster India’s position in the global semiconductor market.
Details
The first unit, established by Crystal Matrix Ltd., will be a compound semiconductor fab and ATMP unit in Dholera, focusing on mini and micro-LED display modules using GaN technology. The second unit, by Suchi Semicon in Surat, will be an OSAT facility with a capacity of over 1,033 Mn chips per year, catering to power electronics, automotive, and other sectors.
