A88 Fund I was launched by A88 Trust, a trust registered with SEBI as a Category II Alternative Investment Fund, in February. The fund will be sponsored by Info Edge’s subsidiary Smartweb and will focus on investing in early-stage deeptech startups in India. The objectives of the scheme are to generate long-term growth for contributors and support the Indian entrepreneurial ecosystem by investing in early-stage deep tech companies in India.
Info Edge also mentioned that it is transferring its entire stake of 26.14% held in Shopkirana E Trading Pvt Ltd via Startup Investments (Holding) Limited (SIHL) to Udaan for a consideration of $32.97 Mn. This is Info Edge’s second investment commitment within this week, following an investment of ₹15 Cr in its investment arm, SIHL. In November 2025, the company’s board approved an investment of ₹100 Cr in its investment arm Redstart Labs, which invests in startups across deeptech subsectors and SaaS.
Info Edge is a consumer services company based in Noida, India. The company is known for its flagship brand Naukri.com, a leading job portal in India. Info Edge has also made investments in various startups and operates multiple businesses in the consumer services sector.
The increased interest of Info Edge in the Indian deeptech startup ecosystem aligns with a broader trend within the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem. Deeptech investments have grown sharply in recent years, reflecting the growing importance of deeptech innovations in driving economic growth and competitiveness in the region.
