RoshAi Secures ₹22 Cr Funding to Advance Autonomous Vehicles

RoshAi’s Funding Round

Deeptech startup RoshAi has successfully raised ₹22 Cr (approximately $2.4 Mn) in a funding round led by IAN Group. The Kochi-based company intends to utilize these funds to bolster its core technology, broaden its deployments, and scale its operations.

Details

The capital will be directed towards enhancing RoshAi’s autonomy stack, perception systems, and fleet management platform. It will also support initial pilots, scale customer deployments, and establish a presence in the US and other international markets through strategic hiring and sales infrastructure. A portion of the funds will be allocated to team expansion, with the remainder covering working capital and providing runway for the next 9-12 months.

Company Background

Founded in 2021 by Roshy John and Rajaram Moorthy, RoshAi specializes in retrofitting commercial vehicles for autonomous operation in confined environments such as sea ports, mining sites, airports, and industrial yards. The startup offers a full-stack platform that integrates AI software, retrofit hardware, and a cloud-based fleet management system, aiming to improve safety, efficiency, and uptime in industrial operations.

Market Context

This funding round is significant as it underscores the growing interest in autonomous vehicle technology for industrial use. RoshAi’s approach to retrofitting existing vehicles with driverless capabilities and its ‘Android-for-autonomy’ model, which licenses software to OEMs and fleet operators, positions the company to make a substantial impact in the sector. The funding will enable RoshAi to further develop its technology and expand its reach, competing with other players like Minus Zero, Flo Mobility, Ati Motors, and Swaayatt Robots.
